AIIA Celebrates the Establishment of AI Empowerment and Innovation Centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

The 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area AI Industry Conference, a landmark event showcasing the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, concluded with resounding success on October 24 in Guangzhou Nansha. The event, which spanned from October 23 to 24, was a testament to the region's commitment to fostering innovation and driving the future of AI.

Hosted by the Guangdong AI Industry Association under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the conference attracted over 1000 distinguished participants, including AI academicians, academic leaders, and representatives from leading enterprises. The event featured four thematic forums, an expansive exhibition of AI products covering over 4000 square meters, and a series of supporting activities that highlighted the latest trends and breakthroughs in AI.

The conference also marked the official establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao (Nansha) AI Industry Empowerment and Innovation Centers, which are poised to accelerate the digital and intelligent transformation of the AI industry in the Greater Bay Area. These centers aim to enhance the region's innovative capacity and strengthen its core competitiveness in the AI sector.

A highlight of the conference was the release of the "2024 Guangdong AI Industry Development White Paper," which underscored the province's significant strides in AI, with a core industry scale nearing 180 billion yuan and over 140,000 AI invention patents authorized as of December 2023.

The "Intelligence Driving Force" 2024 Guangdong AI Industry Awards recognized 27 enterprises and 21 projects for their exceptional contributions to AI technology and applications, further cementing the region's reputation as a hub for AI excellence.
