We are pleased to report on the successful " Chinese Tech Companies' Global Ascent via Hong Kong " high-end exchange meeting, co-hosted by the International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (AIIA), City University of Hong Kong, and the Guangdong-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base.
The event aimed to analyze the necessity and potential limitations for Chinese tech companies expanding overseas amidst the current international environment and to build a platform for tech exchange and cooperation. It was supported by Guangdong Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University Shanghai Advanced Institute,Peking University Science and Technology Park, and other notable organizations.
The meeting opened with a welcome speech by Mr. Cai Zhongtao, Secretary-General of AIIA, who introduced the distinguished guests. Professor Jiang Ping, Dean ofthe School of Computing at City University of Hong Kong, discussed the urgency for companies to go global, citing Vietnam's rapid development as an example.
Professor Zhang Zeshong, Associate Vice President of City University of Hong Kong and Chairman of IEEE Hong Kong Section, highlighted Hong Kong's unique advantagesas an international innovation hub. Mr. Xiao Renjun, General Manager of Guangdong Academy of Sciences' Guangke Holdings, elaborated on the academy's establishment and how to empower enterprises based on their actual needs.
Professor Liu Zhimeng, an academician of the Bolivian National Academy of Sciences,emphasized the need for companies to expand globally, suggesting that they should seek market innovation worldwide. Professor Li Zhi, a dual-appointed professor at Zhejiang University and Guangdong University of Technology,discussed the services needed for companies to expand overseas, including local regulations, international intellectual property protection, and regional technology trends.
Ms.Meng Yunjuan, Assistant to the President of Guangdong Enterprise Confederationand Guangdong Entrepreneurs Association, pointed out the strong desire of enterprises to "go global." Mr. Yang Chao, General Manager of MaoshuoPower's Strategic Investment Department, discussed the main challenges faced by companies in implementing international strategies.
Mr.Deng Zhongming, President of Peking University Science and Technology Park and Executive Vice Chairman of AIIA, introduced Peking University's three branchesin Shenzhen. Finally, Mr. Chen Shan, CEO of the GBA Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base and Co-Secretary-General of AIIA, detailed the plan to build a tech going-global ecosystem centered around the City University of Hong Kong's innovation center.
The meeting provided a platform for Chinese tech companies to showcase and collaborate, offering new ideas for building a GBA industry technology service platform and promoting corporate tech globalization. The "Tech Going Global High-end Exchange Meeting" marked a solid step for the GBA inpromoting the internationalization of tech companies.
Looking forward, AIIA will continue to promote more such events, streng then international tech exchanges and cooperation, and provide a broader international stage for companies to achieve greater success in the global market.
