The International Conference on AI and Advanced Manufacturing was successfully held in Brussels

The academic event was organized by the International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance and received support from the Federation of Chinese Professional Associations in Europe (FCPAE), Overseas Chinese Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, Huzhou Normal University, the International Association of Applied Science and Technology (IAAST), the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), and the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI). The conference aimed to provide a platform for experts, scholars, and professionals worldwide engaged in digital, intelligent, and green design, manufacturing, and applications to exchange the latest research findings and further promote global development in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing.


The main conference of the European Forum revolved around the theme "Towards the Future, Gathering Momentum for Win-Win." It focused on the "Practices of Chinese Companies in Europe and European Companies in China," bringing together technology experts and entrepreneurs from China and Europe for enthusiastic and in-depth discussions. The event achieved its expected goals and was deemed a complete success. Notable attendees included Cao Zhongming, the Chinese Ambassador to Belgium; Shu Wei, Vice Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology; Michel Compagnon, Deputy Director-General of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment at the Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency in Belgium; Gao Changlin, Minister Counselor at the Chinese Mission to the EU; Chen Jingquan, Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Belgium; Cai Zhongtao, Secretary-General of the National Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance; Zhu Ping, Rotating Chairman of FCPAE and President of the Federation of Chinese Professionals in Belgium; Xue Qian, Chairman of the China-Belgium Technology Park; Song Zhiwei, Chairman of FCPAE; and Liu Xiaoling, Secretary-General of FCPAE, among others. In total, over 260 guests attended the conference, including over 30 association presidents from more than ten European countries, technology experts, entrepreneurs from China and Europe, members of domestic delegations, various media representatives, directors, and members of the organizing committee, as well as other professionals from China and Europe.

The first International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing (Intelligence Sub-forum of the European Forum) covered two parallel tracks: Artificial Intelligence Algorithms and Basic Research (Part A) and Intelligent Instruments and Cross-cutting Research in Clinical Medicine AI (Part B). Professor Jiang Linhua, Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Science and Technology Innovation Alliance and Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, and Professor Ye Shixin, Doctoral Supervisor at the University of Paris-Saclay in France, presided over the opening ceremony.

The distinguished speakers included Professor Wang Wei, Dean of the Sino-French School of Nuclear Engineering and Technology at Sun Yat-sen University; Professor Ye Shixin from the University of Paris-Saclay in France; Professor Wei Mingxing, Chairman of CellVax in France; Dr. Ding Ying from the University of Paris-Saclay; Professor Zeng Xianyi from the National Higher Textile Engineering Institute in France; Ms. Huang Huiyan, Founder and CEO of Xiaoyang Intelligent Group in Germany; Professor Zhou Huiyu from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom; Professor Ma Lei from Southwest Jiaotong University; Dr. Anil Kumar from IIT University in India, among other experts.

Furthermore, several experts, including Academician Shen Yushi from the Georgian Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhang Yudong from the University of Leicester in the UK, Professor Dimitrios A. Karras from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece, Professor Ma Lizhuang from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Gian Luca Brunetti from Politecnico di Milano in Italy, Professor Md Abdus Samad KAMAL from Gunma University in Japan, Researcher Yvette Akwa from INSERM in France, and Professor Zhang Yongmin, Academician of the University of Paris-Sorbonne and the French Academy of Pharmacy, presented their latest research results through online lectures.

The topics covered in the keynote speeches included artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, clinical medicine, and intelligent instruments in the cross-cutting fields of AI. Some examples of the speech titles were "Artificial Intelligence Driving Digital Transformation across Industries," "AI in Medical Image Analysis," "3D Scene Understanding and Fine-Grained Reconstruction," "Current Status, Trends, and Challenges of AI Algorithms and Systems Applied in Manufacturing," "Multilingual AIGC Empowering Super Automation," "Uncertainty in Learning and Modeling," "Core Technologies and Applications of Multi-source Monitoring Information for Key Facilities and Equipment in Rail Transit," "Exploring the Role of Green Materials in Building Environments and Structures," "Networked Physical Control of Next-Generation Road Transport Systems," "Biomimetic Intelligence and Its Application in Robotics Systems," "International Comparison of Emergency Management Systems in Sudden Public Health Events," "Investigation of Neutralizing Antibodies in COVID-19: What We Have Learned from the Interaction between SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein and Antibodies," "Intelligent Clothing for Online Monitoring of Human Health," and "Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation of Saponin Derivatives as Potential Therapeutics," among others.


In addition to the physical conference venue in Brussels, Huzhou Normal University, as one of the organizers, also organized multiple offline audience rooms in China and assisted in the Zoom online venue. Over 300 experts and scholars actively participated in learning and exchanging ideas through offline audience rooms in Huzhou and online platforms. Dr. Long Weibo served as the host for Part A of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Manufacturing, and Professor Wang Zefeng served as the host for Part B (Clinical Medicine and Intelligent Instruments CIMD) at Huzhou Normal University. Teachers and postgraduates from Huzhou Normal University were fully engaged in the international conference, expressing substantial gains from the event.

During the conference, the Overseas Chinese Science and Technology Innovation Alliance and the International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), outlining collaboration in civil industry applications such as smart cities, healthcare, and smart agriculture, aiming to promote the peaceful and green sustainable development of future intelligent technologies.

The Intelligent Sub-forum of the European Forum was supported by the International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance, with support from the Sino-French Health Medical Technology Association, Huzhou Normal University, the International Association of Applied Science and Technology (IAAST), the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), and the American Herbal Products Association. It is worth mentioning that Huzhou Normal University made a significant contribution to this event, demonstrating a high regard for academic exchanges between China and Europe and international research cooperation. The university has consistently emphasized scientific research, closely followed cutting-edge developments in domestic and international research, actively recruited overseas talents, and participated in international scientific and technological cooperation between China and Europe. The university leadership has provided extensive academic resources and facility support for talent recruitment, creating a favorable academic environment for technological innovation and international exchange and cooperation.

Following the presentations, Professor Jiang Linhua delivered the closing speech for the conference, expressing gratitude to the invited guests and the organizing committee, including Wang Zefeng, Long Weibo, Hu Lianxin, Hou Jun, Sun Fuchun, Ma Nan, Lin Xiao, Hu Xing, Pang Chengxin, Yu Changbin, Hu Lingxi.
