The International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance Successfully Hosts the Inaugural International AI Industry Innovation Application (Shenzhen) Leadership Summit

The inaugural International AI Industry Innovation Application Summit and the 2024 International AI Industry Alliance Annual Cooperation Forum were successfully held at Peking University Science and Technology Park. The summit was guided by the Shenzhen Artificial Intelligence Industry Office and co-hosted by Peking University Science and Technology Park, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, International AI Industry Alliance (AIIA), Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base, and Shenzhen Innovation Enterprise Development Research Institute. The event attracted nearly 300 attendees, including AIIA academicians, experts, leaders from well-known domestic universities, technology association presidents and secretaries-general, outstanding entrepreneurs from home and abroad, leaders of high-quality innovation projects, as well as numerous well-known investors, industry experts, technical experts, investment institutions, and startup service organizations, and government officials.


The forum focused on topics such as "AI Empowerment + Technology Innovation + Going Global," an international AI empowerment science and innovation service system, and collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence among industry, academia, and research. The aim was to strengthen the linkage between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, to help enterprises achieve AI transformation efficiently and effectively, to integrate global high-end R&D resources and market resources, to empower enterprises with AI for transformation and upgrading, to rapidly enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises, and to promote high-quality development in the Greater Bay Area.



At the beginning of the forum, Liu Derong, Vice Chairman of the International AI Industry Alliance and a member of the European Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech stating that artificial intelligence is changing the world at an unprecedented speed. The establishment of the alliance aims to promote the rapid development of the international AI industry, to foster innovation and application of AI technology across various industries, to deepen the integration of AI with economic and social development, and to contribute to the progress and development of human society. He hoped that high-tech enterprises, business associations, research institutions, and government agencies participating in the forum would join hands to promote the Greater Bay Area enterprises to embrace AI+, to link the enterprises in the Greater Bay Area with global top scientific and innovative resources, and to advance the industrialization of AI and the AIization of industries through the international academician and expert resources of the alliance.



Subsequently, Li Juan, Vice President, Chair Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), introduced that City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) is a cooperative university established by CityU in the Greater Bay Area, aiming to build the first high-level international university in Dongguan. It focuses on the needs of the country, the strengths of Hong Kong, and faces the world, creating an international, interdisciplinary, and open cooperation platform to contribute to the construction of the bay area and achieve high-quality development.



Later, Shi Lili, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Office of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, stated that Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School is the only off-campus institution of Peking University in Beijing, focusing on talent cultivation, scientific research, scientific and technological innovation, and industrial transformation. The academic direction revolves around basic applications. She also specifically introduced the layout and progress of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School in AI For Science.



Liu Derong, Vice Chairman of the International AI Industry Alliance, a member of the European Academy of Sciences, an IEEE Fellow, and a Chair Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology, shared the theme of "Artificial Intelligence-Driven Self-Learning Control Methods," focusing on artificial intelligence-driven dynamic planning, adaptive dynamic planning and reinforcement learning, and parallel control methods. President Liu stated that simulating the human brain is an important aspect of machine intelligent behavior, and machine learning occupies a very important position in artificial intelligence. In the field of self-learning control methods, Academician Liu shared the latest research progress driven by artificial intelligence, including theoretical foundations, key technologies, practical application cases, and challenges and future research directions.



Pan Yi, an academician of the American Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering, Dean and Chair Professor of the School of Computer Science and Control Engineering at Shenzhen University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, brought the theme of "AI Large Model Empowering Biomedicine" through online video. Combining biomedical applications, from the first generation to the third generation of large model AI systems, he emphasized the importance of knowledge and also discussed the application of artificial intelligence in the field of biomanufacturing.



Ding Xianping, an academician of the Russian Natural Science Academy, a professor at Sichuan University and director of the Institute of Genetic Medicine, Life Sciences, presented on "AI Empowering Stem Cell Technology," detailing the diverse empowerment of AI in the field of healthcare, including disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and drug development. He also analyzed current frontier application cases of AI in the field of stem cells and the innovative AI cell preparation technology developed by his team, presenting a scholarly feast that is both deep and broad.



Jiang Linhua, an academician of the Bolivian National Academy of Sciences and the chairman of the China-Europe Scientists Forum Organizing Committee, shared some of his research results in single-vehicle intelligence and vehicle-road cooperation, achieving the productization of AI autonomous driving and building an open-source architecture for vehicle-road cooperative autonomous driving. This will help the mass production and development of L4 and above autonomous driving systems from three aspects: improving single-vehicle intelligence, breaking through the perception bottleneck of single-vehicle intelligence, and multi-vehicle group intelligent cooperative control. He also emphasized that the application of artificial intelligence technology will lead the transformation of the automotive industry from six aspects in the future: smart interaction, smart travel, smart logistics, intelligent manufacturing, and smart services.



Huang Hongsheng, the founder of Skyworth Group and Kaiwo New Energy Automobile Group, stated that artificial intelligence has become an important driving force for a new round of scientific and technological revolution. Skyworth Group will also vigorously promote AI innovation and transformation, looking forward to deeper connections and cooperation with AI industry alliance entrepreneurs and friends.



Ms. Guo, the executive dean of Skyworth Business School, shared the development of Skyworth Group and the important exploration and practice of Skyworth Business School in the field of artificial intelligence. The goal of Skyworth Business School is to cultivate future business leaders with a global perspective, innovative spirit, and leadership ability. To achieve this educational goal, Skyworth Business School plans to introduce more high-end artificial intelligence courses in the future and integrate them into the curriculum system.



Ma Shuai, General Manager of Shenzhen Kukai Brain-Computer Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the latest breakthroughs in brain-computer interface (BCI) technology, which achieves direct communication between the human brain and computers by decoding brain signals. He emphasized that with the development of artificial intelligence technology, the application prospects of BCI technology are becoming more and more extensive, from medical rehabilitation to smart home control, all of which may be innovated by this technology. In his speech, Ma detailed how artificial intelligence optimizes the performance of brain-computer interfaces. Through machine learning and deep learning algorithms, AI can more accurately interpret brain signals, improving the speed and accuracy of signal processing, thus providing users with a smoother human-computer interaction experience. As a pioneer in the industry, Shenzhen Kukai Brain-Computer Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. has made significant achievements in the field of AI + brain-computer interfaces. General Manager Ma shared several key projects of the company, including assistive devices designed for people with disabilities, interactive systems for gaming and entertainment, and professional applications to improve work efficiency.



Deng Zhongming, President of Peking University Science and Technology Park and Executive Vice Chairman of the International AI Industry Alliance, stated that under the current situation where the matching degree between scientific research and industry supply and demand leads to low rates of key technology transformation and industrialization, the International AI Industry Alliance has launched the AI Science and Technology Innovation Brain to empower the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. It fully integrates resources and bases such as Guangdong Academy of Sciences, Peking University Science and Technology Park, Tsinghua University Technology Innovation Research Center, and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base, to build a top-level scientific and technological innovation ecosystem, to build an overall service system framework, a concept verification center, and to cultivate "technology brokers and scientists" as dual-standing individuals, which can better connect scientific and technological innovation resources, allowing scientific and technological innovation information and data to flow efficiently and match accurately, ultimately generating benefits and achieving win-win cooperation.



Mao Wenjie, Chairman of the Forbes China Artificial Intelligence Enterprise Selection Organizing Committee, focused on the Forbes annual list selection, emphasizing the reputation and influence of the Forbes list. He expressed his honor to cooperate with AI Science and Technology Innovation Brain, continuously matching resources for enterprises and governments, introducing more scientific and technological talents and overseas projects, and contributing to industrial upgrading and industry landing, international cooperation, and scientific progress.



Skyworth Business School and the International AI Industry Alliance (AIIA) have signed a collaborative agreement to promote the "Corporate AI Transformation" executive program. This initiative will leverage the academician resources of the AIIA to organize specialized teaching resources for AI industry application., enhancing the understanding of artificial intelligence among entrepreneurs and fostering project collaborations between academician teams and business leaders. The program aims to efficiently assist enterprises in achieving AI transformation and to help academician teams rapidly commercialize their projects.



At the event, AIIA Secretary-General Cai Zhongtao reported on the alliance's 2025 development plan, which aims to expand its global influence in the field of artificial intelligence. The plan focuses on significantly increasing the number of global entrepreneur members from the current 200 to over 1500, and increasing the number of academicians and distinguished professors to exceed 1500. The alliance plans to establish more national-level sub-centers globally, including in Canada, Austria, Spain, India, the United Kingdom, and Denmark, to attract top talent and projects. Additionally, AIIA will expand its global cooperation network by developing partnerships with 30 international social organizations and 50 domestic social organizations to promote collaboration and exchange worldwide.


To further promote the industrial application and innovation of AI technology, AIIA will organize multiple international industry forums and global AI+ industry innovation competitions. These events aim to collect AI+ industry application scenarios and efficiently match academician scientific and innovation resources to empower enterprise AI industry upgrades. The alliance will also operate new media platforms to highlight 100 AI+ industry academicians and 100 outstanding social organization leaders, enhancing their global visibility and influence. Furthermore, AIIA plans to promote the establishment of international joint laboratories/research institutes in collaboration with Nobel laureates, academicians, or universities to drive international AI+ high-end scientific and innovative resources to empower industrial innovation. The alliance will focus on incubating innovative technologies, upgrading industry intelligence, and facilitating cross-industry collaboration, injecting new momentum into enterprises through the AI Innovation Brain and the international innovation centers of Hong Kong and Spain. to help enterprises expand their global horizons and internationalize their market presence. Lastly, AIIA will collaborate deeply with top academicians to provide enterprises with scientific and technological innovation and technical support, focusing on industry pain points to enhance R&D capabilities and drive technological breakthroughs.



The forum featured a roundtable dialogue session moderated by Chen Shan, President of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base and Co-Secretary-General of the International AI Industry Alliance. The session included distinguished guests such as Zhang Ju, President of Shenzhen Association of Science and Technology Workers, Academician Jiang Linhua from the Bolivian National Academy of Sciences and Secretary-General for the EU region of the International AI Industry Alliance, Lian Haiying, Head of the Tsinghua University Technology Innovation Research Center and Co-founder of Tsinghua Innovation Excellence (a national key project industrialization company), Yan Zhan, Secretary-General of the Forbes China AI Technology Enterprise Selection Organizing Committee, and Deng Zhongming, President of Peking University Science and Technology Park and Executive Vice Chairman of the International AI Industry Alliance. They gathered to discuss the theme, "How to effectively implement and participate in the commercialization of artificial intelligence?"



Academician Jiang Linhua highlighted the broad application scope of artificial intelligence in autonomous driving, noting that there are numerous scenarios worth exploring for AI startups.

Dr. Deng Zhongming pointed out that high-tech talents have strong research and development advantages but also face difficulties in the transformation of scientific achievements. The AI Innovation Brain platform can serve the transformation of scientific achievements from universities and research institutes and better serve government investment attraction and industrial planning, connecting startups with major clients, large enterprises with merger and acquisition targets, and investment institutions and financial institutions with suitable investment opportunities.

Secretary-General Yan Zhan mentioned that China's AI field has a broad development prospect. AI enterprises or R&D teams face challenges in the implementation process. Through the Science and Technology Innovation Brain platform, they can benchmark globally, identify their shortcomings and project breakthrough points, providing valuable support for the industry's landing of artificial intelligence.

President Zhang Ju emphasized that the most significant direction for the commercialization and implementation of artificial intelligence is to transform and upgrade traditional industries, integrating AI technology with industries to enhance enterprise innovation management and manufacturing capabilities. He also stated that China's internal market has great potential and that everyone should have faith in the Chinese market.

Teacher Lian Haiying mentioned that artificial intelligence systems can batch-screen the results generated from scientific research funds to find suitable technologies for enterprises and empower technology investment attraction and industrial chain technology empowerment. She emphasized the importance of utilizing policy and financial resources effectively and hoped that relevant departments could transform decision-making, shift from allocating

funds to allocating opportunities, thus providing a continuous stream of valuable information.

This roundtable discussion brought together a diverse group of experts to share insights and perspectives on the practical implementation and participation in the commercialization of artificial intelligence, providing a comprehensive view on how to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the AI industry.
