The Intelligent Technology and Systems Laboratory, based in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, is primarily engaged in the fundamentals and practical applications of artificial intelligence methods. This includes intelligent information processing, problem-solving, computational linguistics, intelligent control, pattern recognition, and neural networks. The lab focuses on artificial intelligence applications and integrated system technologies, encompassing intelligent robotics, human-computer interaction, as well as sound, graphics, image, text, and language processing.

The laboratory has undertaken numerous national key research tasks and has achieved international standards in some research areas. For instance, achievements like the "Interactive and Self-learning Offline Handwritten Chinese Character Recognition System and Method" and the "Hierarchical Problem-solving Theory and Application in Artificial Intelligence" have received recognition through national scientific and technological advancement awards as well as natural science awards.
